Kumeu River's flagship wine and often regarded as a masterpiece for its richness and complexity! In 1990, Maté Brajkovich replanted his family's original vineyard that they purchased back in 1944. Sadly Maté died the year before the first grapes were picked but the resulting wine was called Matés Vineyard.
The wine is fermented in French oak barrels, with around 30% of them being new, which enhances the wine's opulence and concentration. It has a rich, harmonious profile, often featuring notes of stone fruit, citrus, jasmine, and cream.
