Forget the mass produced Lambrusco from the '70s and '80s this one from Villa Cialdini is how Lambrusco should be! Made using mainly Lambrusco Graspraossa a lower yielding and more concentrated clone of Lambrusco. The resulting wine is deeply coloured, frothing, dry and structured, while displaying pronounced dark plum and black currant fruitiness cut by lovely acidity.
Villa Cialdini is an estate south-east of Modena that has been owned by the Chiarli family since 1860. The Castelvetro project was started in 2002 by brothers Anselmo and Mauro Chiarli. Their idea was to build a state-of-the-art winery to produce top quality Lambrusco, an ambition in which they have certainly succeeded!
