Quinta do Vale Meăo in the Douro is owned by the Olazabal family, descendants of the founder, Antonia Adelaide Ferreira, Winemaker Xito Olazabal inherited a swathe of terroirs and grape varieties within the estate and is focussed on making wines that reflect the estates overall terroir and each vintages character.
Vineyards are picked separately, the grapes crushed and trodden by foot in granite lagares, They are vinified in stainless steel before ageing in 2nd and 3rd year barriques for 14 months.
Deep red in colour with red fruit aromas and floral scents. The palate is very expressive with intense fruit notes, showing a long, very fresh and complex after taste.
