Barón de Chirel Verdejo Viñas Centenarias is made from ancient, pre-phylloxera vines over 100 years’ old, from the districts of Aldeanueva del Codonal and Aldehuela, in Segovia. These ungrafted vine stocks are bush pruned and harvested by hand. It is then aged on the lees for 6 months in small, Austrian Stockinger oak vats.
This wine has a dense mouth-feel, long and full of flavours, it is wonderfully aromatic with a fruity and well-balanced profile. It is lively and fresh , thanks to the altitude of the plots, some of them at 900 metres and is enhanced by mineral notes derived from the granite-rich soils.
