Pinot Noir might not be the first thing that springs to mind when thinking of Sancerre but it can make exceptional quality Pinot. Paul Prieur's 5 hectares of Sancerre Rouge are grown in a local spot known as “Les Pichons” below the Monts Damnés hill. A small amount of the wine sees new oak the rest is a combination of used oak barrels and old oak vats. The wine is elegant with a lovely core of red fruit.
