The Allegrini family has been making wine in the Valpolicella region of Veneto, Italy, for over 600 years. The current generation of winemakers are all passionate about winemaking and committed to producing the highest quality wines.
This is the flagship wine of Allegrini and is made from grapes that have been dried for several months which concentrates the sugars and flavours. The wine is aged in oak barrels for at least two years, and often longer.
Intense ruby red in colour the wine has an extraordinary complexity on the nose, with notes of cherry and blackberry jam, followed by hints of dried violet, dark chocolate, coffee and tobacco. The wine is full-bodied and has smooth tannins, but it is also balanced and elegant.
