2018 Gaja Ca’Marcanda Promis Bolgheri Magnum

The birthplace of modern Italian wine and makes perfect sense for Gaja to continue their much coveted legacy here. The vineyards are to be found mainly in Bolgheri and the neighbouring area of Bibbona, with soils full of limestone and clay. The Merlot, Syrah and Sangiovese are fermented separately for around 15 days. They then spend 12 months of ageing in oak, to be then blended together and then aged for several months in the bottle before release.

Promis is fruit-driven, mainly wild red fruits: raspberry, black currant, and blueberry. Some spice and pepper with soft tannins and a lovely freshness and a super long satisfying finish.
