Chateau Musar is rightly regarded as one of the world’s truly iconic wineries. More well known for their Chateau Musar Red, their White wine is equally impressive.

Seven years in the making, Chateau Musar White is crafted from Obaideh (60%) and Merwah (40%), two indigenous grape varieties from the mountainous regions of Lebanon. The vineyards were planted between 50-90 years ago, in the rocky, calcareous soils of the Anti-Lebanon and Mount Lebanon mountains. The bush vines are untrained and at high altitudes (around 1400m) mean yields are low at 10-20 hectoliters per hectare. The grapes are fermented separately using natural yeast in new French oak barrels for 9 months, before being blended and bottled in the summer of 2019. This meticulous process results in a distinguished wine that is rare and highly esteemed in the world of winemaking.

The 2018 vintage release has aromas of lemon and lime, oregano and pine, following through to a zesty vibrant palate with pears, apples and fresh Mediterranean herbs. It is both youthful and complex with long lasting flavours.

Please note. Chateau Musar White is complex and concentrated so best enjoyed after allowing it to breathe for several hours. We recommend serving at a cool cellar temperature of 15°C to experience it at its best.

The white will work beautifully with pâté and rillettes, seafood dishes and because of its intense flavours will also go well with spicy food.

Musar's wines are well known for their aging potential.
