The jewel in the crown and only produced in the best years. This wine was considered the riserva di famiglia–the family reserve wine and kept for special occasions. Its basically the best pick of Lessona and named after Quintino Sella, who was a champion of Italian unification and minister in the Risorgimento government. It is made from Nebbiolo 85%, Vespolina 15% and this 2006 vintage shows just how beautiful and age worthy these wines are. Yes not cheap but a fraction of what you would pay for some of this quality from Barolo or Barbaresco!
