This is Henri Giraud's new Rosé made from the base wine Pinot Noir which would normally become his Hommage du Pinot Noir. A splash of red Pinot Noir is added thing comes from a Ay Grand Cru 50 year old plot. Vinified in oak and then aged in terracotta (dame Jane) which are amphora like vessels which back in ancient times were used to transport wines and oils from the Persian city of Damjhan in the heart of Mesopotamia.
Its a lovely salmon pink and vivacious bubbles. The wine is pretty full bodied and a real streak of savory crushed red dried fruits with biscuit and spice.
