As is usual each edition of Krug Rose is a blend of wines of the year with wines from selected plots of the House’s vast reserve library, and completed with traditionally macerated Pinot Noir to add structure and spice
The 25th Edition is a blend of 28 wines from 5 different years, the youngest of which is from 2013, while the oldest dates back to 2008. Its final composition is 45% Pinot Noir, 30% Chardonnay and 25% Meunier. It was completed with 11% traditionally macerated Pinot Noir of the year from La Côte Valnon, a special plot in Aÿ, to add vivacity, spiciness, colour and structure.
The bottles are rested in Krug’s cellars for seven years to give it its unique expression and elegance.
A subtle pale pink in colour with a fine mousse. On the nose, aromas of rose hips, cured ham, mulberries, redcurrant, pepper and pink grapefruit. On the palate, delicate flavours of honey, citrus and dried fruit that give way to a long satisfying finish.
