Proprietor Stéphane Magnien entered into the family business in 2002 after inheriting a winemaking legacy going back four generations to his ancestor, Victor Magnien, in the early 20th Century. Clos Saint-Denis is a grand cru vineyard in Morey-Saint-Denis, in Burgundy's famous Côte de Nuits. Seductive, complex nose of sweet red friuts interlaced with baking spices, and a whiff of rooibus tea . Silky, smooth and supple palate dominated by cranberries, dried strawberries and pomegranate. Long, mineral finish. This is a great effort from an under the radar producer.
