Chitry-le-Fort, a small village situated 12km southwest of Chablis, boasts kimmeridgian soils similar to its famous neighbour, offering tight, mineral Pinot Noir. In 1993, the village earned the 'Bourgogne Chitry' appellation for Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. The recent warming climate has enhanced wine consistency, increasing demand both locally and internationally.
Brother and sister Aurélie and Thibault Giraudon, are the current generation at the helm, focus on producing fresh, elegant wines that reflect Chitry's unique character. They use only stainless steel for aging, natural yeasts, and handpicked grapes. Their wines offer a beautiful, pure expression of Burgundy at a reasonable price, especially as Côte d’Or wines surge in cost.
