Established in 1990, Royal Tokaji's goal was to revive the wines of one of history's most renowned regions. With 108 hectares of vineyards, 57 hectares are situated in three First Growths - Szt. Tamás, Nyulászó, Betsek - and in one Great First Growth of Mézes Mály. Their 14th Century cellars are the perfect environment for their age worthy wines and looking to the future a new, state-of-the-art winery was built in 2010. Their wines have received over 100 international awards and are highly acclaimed worldwide.
Szt. Tamás, a renowned First Growth vineyard with a southwest-facing slope, overlooks the Royal Tokaji winery in Mád.
Whole clusters of Furmint grapes were gently pressed and fermented in 300-litre Zemplén oak barrels. Following fermentation, the wine matured for ten months in Hungarian oak, with 30% new barrels.
The wine is dry, bold and well-structured, combining concentration, elegance with a firm backbone. Crisp acidity complements the ripe fruit, while barrel aging adds subtle spice notes. Long and intense, this wine beautifully reflects the unique terroir of its origin.
