We love this style of dry Chenin from the Loire, This little beauty is made from a 1 hectare plot that Florian Zuliani, who was the oenologist at Château de Bonnezeaux,, started as his own project in 2020. So this is his second vintage. As Florian chooses to create a dry white wine, rather than the stipulated classic sweet of the region, it has the classification of Vin de France.
If you have had Château de Bonnezeaux’s dry Chenin then you would be familiar with this style. Concentrated and complex with layers of flavour and a ripple of VA which adds a lovely twang. This is modern, natural, a little wild but all the better for that. A true artisanal hand wine and you can feel the love that has gone into it!
Florian suggests decanting for a few hours before tasting. We have yet to wait that long!
