Noon burst onto the scene back in the mid 1990’s and it has fast become a cult wine. Its only produced in tiny quantities and there is a sorry sold-out sign on the cellar door for most of the year.
The Reserve Cabernet comes from a long-standing arrangement with friends down in the Langhorne Creek and is only made when the quality is high.
Noon wines are renowned for their power and concentration, but they have some backbone as well. Yes it might be over 15% but it has more than enough fruit to soak up that alcohol. It’s aged for 18 months in oak and bursting with Aussie attitude. Serve this up with something hearty to stand up to the wine… a barbecued chargrilled steak would be perfect!
2015 was a small crop and less than 500 cases were produced this year.
Drinking well now but would age well for 10 years or so.
