Soutiran’s main point of difference is the amount of age the wines enjoy in bottle before they are disgorged – anything from between five and ten years – with a further six-months minimum on the cork before release. This has a very distinct effect on the style as these are very much gastronomic Champagnes, designed more for the table than as a celebratory drink.
Their Millésimée cuvée is only made in exceptional years with grapes from Pinot Grand Cru and Chardonnay Grand Cru sites. Complex aromas of honey, crushed pear, and red fruits are complemented by intense iodine minerality The palate is rich in ripe, fleshy fruits and is balanced by the tension and freshness of the vintage. The finish is full and harmonious, indicating the exceptional quality of this Champagne.
