At a recent trade tasting for wine merchants and journalists Frederick Webber, Bouchards head winemaker, was asked what his desert island wine would be - his reply Meursault Perrieres 2010!
Recent release from the Bouchard cellars and still fresh as a daisy.
It is the marly ground to which the vine clings that has given rise to the name of this exceptional age-old plot: "Perrières". This Premier Cru has been renowned for its finesse and pureness for many years: in the mid-19th century, the wine maker, M. de Vergnette stated in one of his works that "Apart from the true Montrachets, I know of no other white wine so exquisite.’’
A complex blend of floral notes, green fruit and subtle vanilla. Both full and subtle, this wine reveals considerable personality good minerality and a wonderful freshness. Good ageing potential.
