Gašper is situated in Goriška Brda, encompassing two-thirds of Collio that extends into Slovenia from Friuli Venezia Giulia in northeastern Italy. Goriška Brda boasts an ideal climate for viticulture, benefiting from its proximity to both the Adriatic Sea and the Alps. This combination results in dry, warm summers accompanied by cooling breezes during the crucial ripening period
Leading the cellar is winemaker Darinko Ribolica, a respected oenologist native to the region. For the white wines, he utilizes local Slovenian varieties to craft wines in a modern, fresh style.
The Malvazija grape variety, renowned for its taut and zesty nature with a subtle honeyed character, is vinified in stainless steel. It exhibits a slightly richer profile than other whites, featuring aromas of tropical fruit and hints of almond on the finish. All the estates white wines share a common thread of lively acidity, and designed to be drunk young and fresh.
