Ardbeg has been distilled on Islay, part of the Inner Hebrides archipelago, for more than 200 years, Ardbeg is known as one of the peatiest and smokiest, yet most complex, of all the Islay single malt whiskies.
An Oa is named after the peninsula that juts out into the Atlantic and protects Ardbeg from the harshest weather. A blend is made from whiskies that spend time in different casks types that include sweet Pedro Ximenez, spicy Virgin charred oak; and intense ex-bourbon casks. The resulting dram is full of smoky power with a mellow sweetness. This is quintessential Ardbeg with peat, dark chocolate and aniseed wrapped in smooth, silky butterscotch, black pepper and clove.
