The TOUTAIN family has been producing Calvados in Normandy for 5 generations, The Domaine de la Couterie, where it has been based since 1971, is located at the gateway to the Pays d'Auge, in the small town of Beuzeville
Their 8 year old Calvados has been aged for at least 8 years in oak barrels. It is made from a blend of apple varieties, including Saint Martin, Noel des Champs, Mettais, and Doux Normandie. The cider is distilled once to an abv of between 68% and 72%.
It has a rich, complex flavour with notes of apple, oak, and spices. Smooth and mellow on the palate, its finish is long and lingering.
