This tiny organic domaine in the Maranges AOC at the most southerly point of the Cotes de Beaune was established by young producer Fiona Leroy. The region is one of the most ecologically diverse with villages, woods, pastures, rivers, hills, valleys, livestock farming and wild fauna. Fiona has embraced her environment and carries out all viticultural practices organically and biodynamically- using infusions and decoctions of horn manure, silica, horsetail, nettle and achillea.
Viniculture and winemaking processes are simple, traditional and use minimal intervention. No new oak is used, in order to preserve the nuances of her individual terroirs. Sulphur dioxide is used sparingly, if at all. Reds are neither fined nor filtered,
Fiona's Bourgogne Rouge is a great example of what a good Bourgogne can be. Textbook Pinot characteristics of red cherry, strawberry, fresh red fruits and a delicate tannin structure with a mineral edge.
