Roberto Oliván is one of the leading names among the new generation of young producers in Rioja producing organic, terroir driven wines. His fruit driven Xerico is blend of Tempranillo and the lesser known white grape Viura. The grapes are co-fermented and whole bunch pressed and unusually in Rioja are aged without the use of oak.
Deep dark berry colour. Bright spicy cherry and plum fruit, slightly smoky. Well structured and with firm tannins. A satisfyingly different style of Rioja!
