Soutiran’s main point of difference is the amount of age the wines enjoy in bottle before they are disgorged – anything from between five and ten years – with a further six-months minimum on the cork before release. This has a very distinct effect on the style as these are very much gastronomic Champagnes, designed more for the table than as a celebratory drink.
This Blanc de Blancs is a fleshy and rich Champagne made purely from Chardonnay grapes, showcasing natural freshness and aromas. The nose reveals a complex blend of citrus, granny smith apples, and vine peach. Effervescence is supple and creamy, while the palate is met with a frank and rich attack. Notes of chalk and salinity provide a textured and balanced finish.
