2019 Virgen de Galir Los Carismaticos

Virgen del Galir was founded in 2002 and is located in Éntoma, a small village in the Val do Galir in Ourense, Galicia. The wine, Los Carismaticos, is named after the religious order of the monastery of As Ermitas. The tiny half acre vineyard where the Merenzao grape is planted (also known as  Bastardo, Trousseau or Gros Cabernet) was baptized with the same name, to pay tribute. The terraces of this estate were hand-built with stone in the nineteenth century, and the vineyard itself is over 50 years old. The mountainous terrain means all work is done manually or with animals.

It is a delicate, clean, and bright red fruit and mineral flavours, balanced acidity, and a long finish. Limited extraction and intervention techniques are used.
