Steeped in history and on the banks of the Breede river you will find Alvi’s Drift. Albertus Viljoen van der Merwe – “Alvi” to his friends was the first South African to score a try against the all blacks on African soil, he also bought land in the Breede River Valley back in the 1920’s/1930’s which is still farmed for fruit and rearing cattle.
Alvi van der Merwe (Albertus’s grandson) is the man behind these wines and 20 years on is still making a fantastic range and is committed to environmental conservation and sustainability.
Their Cabernet Sauvignon/Shiraz has fruity aromas of raspberry, blackcurrant, and blackberry, with subtle undertones of vanilla and black pepper. It boasts a smooth, velvety texture, and well-rounded tannins.
Suitable for vegetarians and vegans.
