Casa Ferreirinha's origins can be traced back to 1952, when the first Barca-Velha vintage was produced. A pioneer in the Douro region, Fernando Nicolau de Almeida sparked a quality revolution in still wines, with Casa Ferreirinha being the first producer to solely focus on this type of wine rather than Port.
This deep ruby wine has a complex, intense nose of ripe red and black fruits, with floral nuances. Hints of tobacco and spice add to its richness. The palate offers lively acidity and firm yet velvety tannins, with a lovely spiciness on the harmonious, long finish.
