Ronco del Gnemiz is situated in Friuli in the North of Italy close to the border with Slovenia. Owner Serena Palazzolo and her partner Cristian Patat are committed to producing wines of uncompromising quality through natural viticulture, low yield and focusing on varietal purity.
Grapes are picked during the first 10 days of September and fermented in French oak barriques for 10 months. The resulting wine is lovely and understated showing less pungency than one would normally expected from the grape.
There is a delightful minerality on the palate and an almost salty note to compliment the ripe white fruits and lighter green fruit notes. The wine is warm, rounded and powerful but equally refined with a fresh, focussed acidity.
