The grape variety Schioppettino was almost wiped out in the early 20th century due to phylloxera . It was replanted in the 1970's after a campaign to reintroduce indigenous varieties. The grapes for this wine come from a small, .7 hectare plot, after fermentation it aged for 20 months in old oak.
A very refined and elegant wine. Medium-bodied, full of spicy red fruit, firm but fine tannins and good acidity.
