Valdespino is a historical bodega in Jerez, with a long-standing tradition of producing Sherry for over six centuries. Founded in 1264, Alfonso Valdespino was one of the 24 knights who fought alongside King Alfonso X against the Arabs for the city of Jerez. As a reward, he was granted land which serves as the foundation of the bodega. Today, Valdespino is owned by the Estevez family, who acquired the bodega in 1999.
The Fino 'Inocente' from their Premium collection is a single-vineyard Sherry made from grapes grown in Valdespino's renowned 'Marcharnudo Alto' vineyard. Unlike most Fino Sherries, this one is fermented in oak barrels and uses a unique solera system with ten 'criaderas'.
