Founded in 1832, the Castarède house is the oldest house in Armagnac and watches over a collection of vintages, the oldest of which dates back to 1888.

Their 1977 Bas Armagnac has been aged in black oak barrels from the Monlezun forest, and has a complex and mellow flavour. The nose is full of dried fruits, such as plums and prunes, as well as hints of vanilla and spice. On the palate, it is smooth and fruity, with a long and lingering finish.
