Tenute Sella is located in Northern Piemonte at the foot of the Alps of Biella. The family owned estate was originally purchased in 1671 by Comino Sella, and has been cultivated by generations of the Sella family.
Today under the watchful eye of talented winemaker Riccardo Giovannini, the estate makes beautiful, ethereal expressions of Nebbiolo-based wines. Their wines represent more refined and fragrant examples of Nebbiolo and are very different from the power and structure of Barolo and Barbaresco.
Orbello is a small village very close to the vineyard where this wine is produced. The wine is a blend of Nebbiolo, Vespolina and a touch of Cabernet Sauvignon that Tenute Sella has been producing for more than 50 years.
It has an attractive nose of bright red fruits. More supple red fruits follow through on the palate. Soft and smooth with a touch of minerality. there is great finesse to this wine.
Would be wonderful with a wild mushroom risotto.
