Chateau Montus benefits from a terroir unique in the South West consisting of steep slopes with large rounded pebbles on top of fine clay from the Pyrennees. Vineyards are South/Southwest facing which coupled with the warm terroir produces well ripened grapes. Chateau Montus Prestige uses 100% Tannat grapes and is made up from a selection of the vineyards best terroirs from Montus's highest plots. Grapes are harvested in small crates to avoid damage to the skin. After fermentation wine is aged in 100% new oak for 14-16 months
A rich opulent wine with subtle complex fruit and great depth. Chateau Montus made big waves in the wine world in 1985 when it performed better than many of Frances top wines at tastings and placed it firmly in the limelight.
