It would be more than fair to say that Wade Metzer has been making some of the finest wines in South Africa for many years. His winemaking philosophy centres on his unwavering respect for the fruit. He adheres to non-interventionist principles, employing no mechanical interventions, utilizing indigenous yeasts, and avoiding fining or filtration. Sourcing grapes from mostly Old Vine Certified blocks in Stellenbosch, Wades wines consistently score highly amongst South Africa's finest wines.

This Old Vine Chenin Blanc from Helderberg offers subtle apple, hay, and ginger spice aromas, a textured palate with a mineral core, and citrus hints in the finish.
Maritime Chenin Chenin Blanc 2020 £30.99
Planted near False Bay in 1980, this Old Vine Chenin Blanc differs distinctly from Montane, exuding notes of pear, white peach, and lemon, featuring bright stone fruit, rich texture, lively acidity, and a persistent finish with hints of white spice and orange blossom.
Mantra Red Blend 2021 £26.99
A blend is of 60% Shiraz and 40% Cinsault. Delicate nose of black cherries, dried cranberries, herbs, and a hint of crushed rose petal. Fleshy yet supple, with dense fruit and crunchy, persistent tannins from whole bunch grapes.
OVP Cinsault 2021 £27.99
Sourced from a single-vineyard planted in 1957 on the Helderberg foothills. Delicate flavours of ripe cherries, cranberries, peppery spice, and a hint of lavender characterize the wine. The palate is firm and concentrated with fine dry tannins.
Cabernet Sauvignon 2020 £27.99
Grapes are from the granite based vineyards in the Steynsrust overlooking False Bay. Classic Cabernet flavours of ripe plums, herbs, cassis, and a hint of smoked meat, evolving into darker undertones of cigar-box and spice. The full-bodied palate is lifted by fresh acidity and compact, prominent tannins.

A delightful blend of Chardonnay and Chenin Blanc sourced from cooler climate vineyards. It boasts citrus aromas with hints of honey and lemon curd. The palate reveals vibrant fruit flavours, lively acidity, and delicate floral notes.
Cabernet Franc 2019 £37.99
Oldenburg Vineyards highlights their terroir in their Cabernet Franc 2019. Hand-sorted grapes and careful fermentation yield a focused wine aged for 18 months in French oak barrels. Reminiscent of the Loire valley the wine is concentrated with minerality and acidity, it features red and dark berries, green herbs, tea leaf, and rose petal notes. Rondekop Rhodium Bordeaux Blend 2020 £53.99
Oldenburg's proprietor, Adrian Van der Spuy, named this wine "Rhodium" as a homage to his background in precious metals. Hand-picked Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes underwent meticulous sorting and fermentation before maturing for 18 months in French oak barrels. With red and black fruit aromas, Cab Franc's herbal notes, and fine-grained tannins, it's a world-class, enduring wine.

Oldenburg's Rondekop Series is named after the iconic hill on their property, where Mesolithic stone axes were found amongst the vineyard. Stone Axe Syrah, made from top Rondekop barrels. Bursting with red fruit and spice, it offers compelling palate of mouthwatering acidity and rounded tannins with great aging potential.
