Chateau D’Esclan's Rosé Wine Tasting Masterclass with Ronan Lieugard Thursday 11th May

Our next wine tasting masterclass will feature the fine rosé wines of the iconic Chateau D'Esclans, whose flagship wine Whispering Angel has become the benchmark for Cote de Provence rose wines. Ronan Lieugard their UK ambassador will lead us through a tasting of the wines from this iconic estate. As well as Whispering Angel we will also taste the Chateau's more serious and food friendly rosés in the form of  Rock Angel, Chateau D'Esclans, and the award winning world class rosés Les Clans and Garrus.

Chateau D'Esclans is widely recognised as home to some of the most highly prized rosé wines. It is situated in the heart of Provence overlooking the Esclan Valley with the meditteranean coast a faint glimmer in the distance and was acquired in 2006 by Sacha Lichine whose vision was to ignite a renaissance of Provence rose and to create some of greatest rosé wines in the world! Grenache is the primary grape grown along withh Vermentino, Cinsault, Mouvedre, Merlot, Syrah and Tibouren and Rolle. The Chateau itself is known for its old Grenache vines which offer grapes of greater concentration of flavour. Some of the vines at the highest elevations are over 100 years old and  are used to make the world class Garrus.
