2016 Tenuta di Trinoro Le Cupole Rosso di Toscano
Tinuta di Trenoro was founded in 199 by Andrea Franchetti in Val d’Orcia, an area with no previous viticultural history. It now produces some of the greatest examples of Bordeaux blends to come out of Italy. Innovation, creativity, and expression are at the core of Tenuta di Trinoro and Andrea's winemaking philosophy, much of which stems from the vision and culture of his family. From an early age, he was inspired by his uncle, the great artist Cy Twombly, as well as the great winemaking traditions of his extended family, the Rothschild's.
Le Cupole is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Petit Verdot. Each variety is fermented separately in stainless steel vats and aged for 8 months in French oak barrels of 1, 2 and 3 years old; then 11 months in cement tanks
